Rick Shinto is the president and CEO of InnovaCare. He was also the CEO of Aveta from 2008 until it was sold in 2012. Before being made the CEO of Aveta, he served as a member of the management team. Today, he is the CEO of InnovaCare’s operations in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Shinto’s Experience
Rick has experience of more than 20 years in operational and clinical healthcare. Dr. Shinto has also worked as the CMO at NAMM California. Additionally, he has worked as the Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Operating Officer at Medical Pathways Management Company. Rick Shinto has also served as the Corporate VP for MedPartners in its Medical Management division. He held onto the position from 1996 to 1997 when he decided to leave and take a position at Cal Optima Health Plan, Orange County, CA, as the CMO. DR. Shinto’s career began as a pulmonologist and internist in Southern California.
About the CAO; Penelope Kokkinides
Penelope is part of the leadership team at InnovaCare. She is the current Chief Administrative Officer at the company. She had previously served as the company’s COO at the firm. She has also held the position of COO at Aveta. Besides that, she was the VP in charge of Clinical Operations at Aveta. Kokkinides experience in the health care sector is more than two decades long. She has specialized experience in the implementation of government programs since she has worked with them for many years. Additionally, Penelope has a wealth of experience in the management of the healthcare process and the development of clinical programs. She is renowned for her ability to improve efficiency at organizations in which she works.
Before she joined InnovaCare, she had worked as the COO and executive VP at Centerlight HealthCare. Her role at the company involved determining the strategic direction of the company. Besides that, she was responsible for overall management at the company. Kokkinides has also worked as the Corporate VP for Care Management and COO at Touchstone Health.
